Queen of Hearts

A day off... that's all anyone ever needs right? And what better way to blow off some steam than to visit the Rose Garden of Exposition Park located in Los Angeles. As you know by now I am obsessed with flowers and floral prints, so when my adorable boyfriend asked me to take a walk through the garden with him I couldn't be more excited! The rose bushes that lined the walkways were in full bloom and displayed a variety of beautiful colors ranging from passionate red to a soft blush to a dainty yellow. I relived a flashback of Alice In Wonderland, yet instead these roses were brighter and in no need of red paint. My outfit, unfortunately not floral, still had a flirty, spring vibe as I chose a girly girl's go-to combo of a summer dress with a cardigan. I paired the ensemble with strappy nude sandels and simple earrings to let the beauty of the print of the dress shine through. And of course being a curvy girl I had to let the world know I still had a waistline by cinching my dress with a braided brown belt. A pure comfort outfit that allowed me to enjoy the radiant California sun.

A Guest at the Geechie House of Fashion...

Hello my lovely college babes! As the college year begins it's downward spiral to summer, I have an exciting, new online boutique, Geechie House of Fashion to show off. As a college fashionista on a budget, I am always looking for key accessories to spice up my style without breaking the bank. I feel with the extras of fashion like jewelry, scarves, bags, and shoes you can reinvent a simple t-shirt and jeans into something spectacular. From chic handbags to gorgeous jewelry, Geechie House of Fashion has something for every style out there.
After practically stalking their website, I fell in love with these products!

I love the design on these! The spring color combo of teal, purple, and fuchsia look amazing paired together on these cute circular earrings.

          Antique Fall Necklace

As you know by now I love my pendents, especially when they resemble nature like this gorgeous leaf design. Although a bit simple, the detail is just stunning and will add an effortless boho touch to any ensemble.

Along with an amazing jewelry collection, the Geechie House of Fashion offers a handbag line named "Geechie Girl". From satchels to hobos, to this adorable cross-body above, they have a great variety of bags that are not only functional but fashionable. What drew me to this piece was the amazing color and metal detailing. I could see myself wearing this bag over and over!

Now enough about me and my lust list, hear what owner, Shawnte has to say about the online boutique.

Me: How did you come to start your company? How is it different from other online boutiques?

Shawnte: "I came up with the idea of running an online boutique out of the love of fashion and everyone telling me I have a great since of style when it comes to dressing and putting things together. I had originally pick the name EyeCandy Handbags as a store name however it wasn't original so I decided to go with Geechie House of Fashion the name it's self has value because it is part of my ethnicity and it is original which goes with the fashion since we have at GHF we stay on top of the latest and hot new trends in accessories and genuine leather handbag we also host personal online shopping events and we also host handbag and accessory parties and bring our fashion to you and your friends."

M: What kind of young women do you think purchase your products?

S: "One of my sayings is we have some thing for everyone at GHF, I believe that any age group would enjoy wearing a number of items from our online boutique. I try to keep in mind that there are a wide variety of costumers that have different wants and needs when it comes shopping we carry tons of different styles and colors for everyone's taste."

M: How would you describe your personal style?

S: "My personal style is very unique I try not to go with the new best thing just because it's a trend I would have to say my style is trendy rocker, bohemian, mature women I like to wear both bright and neutral colors skits, dresses pants, blouses, blazers, and more I love accessories and believe that they make every outfit complete."

M: What advice would you give to women who want to start their own online boutique?

S: "My advice to anyone who is interested in starting their own boutique or business is to do your research there is a lot of different avenues out there so its a good thing to weigh all of your options and have a good support team lets face you cant do it alone."

M: What are new products can we expect to see from your store? What are your best-sellers?

S: "GHF is actually thinking about carrying clothes soon so it will be like a one stop shop leather handbags at great prices, uniquely rare accessories, and clothes. Are best sellers are  our accessories and our hobo and clutch leather handbags."

It's Miserable and Magical...

Sometimes in college you need nights where you can just escape from reality and as Lady Gaga puts it, "marry the night".  A time away from lectures, papers, research, and exams. A time to live. Thankfully I was able to spend this lovely evening with some of my closest amigas. Of course as we were getting ready a girl's night out, I noticed the variation of style each member our group had. Each girl including myself, has a very unique nightlife style. So, if you have a lack of inspiration one night before hitting the town, hopefully this post will help to give you some ideas!

(Left to right: Jasmine, Myself, Hannah, Jeannette)

Jasmine:

Going for a conservative approach, Jasmine choose to expose slightly and have fun with colors and texture. By combining the cobalt blue of the skirt and the cognac brown of the boots, the outfit had a bit of color-blocking. To add a touch of sexy to the ensemble, she added the lace tights. For accessories, she kept it light with a tennis pendent. Overall it was refreshing to see Jasmine in something other then her athletic gear, since she practically lives in it.

Hannah:

Displaying an edgy essence, my roommate Hannah had a very tomboy chic approach when it came to styling her outfit for the night. By choosing a white tuxedo jacket instead of the traditional black, she already set up a sharp contrast to her black bottoms and aqua items. She finished off the outfit with studded boots and a crystallized cross to add some rock star glam. Hannah already has a great indie daytime look, so to see how she chose to dress for the nightime was exciting.

Jeannette:

A more simple outfit of the night, my other roommate Jeannette just took some basic items and made an original outfit by choosing some key accessories. Starting with the selection of combat boots, Jeannette gave her outfit some edge. Even though you cannot see it all too well, she paired her Egyptian pendent with a figure of an Egyptian god to give her a more cultured look. Finishing off with some black arm candy Jeannette created a simple look that still turned heads as she walked in the door.

My Outfit:

Always wanting to stay polished when I go out, I let my fushcia shorts take center stage. I paired my trusty black blazer with a basic creme crop top to show just a bit of skin, then I finished off the look with my brown suede wedges and a bib collar to give it a hint of glam. Of course I has loads of finger candy and chose a pink lip in celebration of spring.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and if you have any post on YOUR blog regarding what YOU wear on a night on the town, leave your link below in the comments!

Sweet Chaos...

Yes, I have been neglecting my blog. No, calling social services is not necessary. I believe my blog and I are on good terms now. So as school, work, and season have tag-teamed me, I decided to share with you, my chic readers, two outfits I wore over the last two weeks that are actually decent. I know it's pathetic, two decent outfits in a two week time span. Although they are relatively simple I believe you do not need over the top ensembles during a hectic college schedule.

In this first outfit I have above, all I paired together was a slouchy sweater with a fitted dress and ballet flats. I paired two blue items together (the sweater and the dress) to show you that every item of your outfit does not necessarily have to be a different color. As women we seem to gravitate towards black as being the one color you can wear all in one outfit, however I believe other neutral colors like blue, grey, brown, and olive can be worn all at once and still look chic. The pictures do not really do it justice, but in the sweater has pink thread woven into the fabric. The sweater also complements the dress since it is of a different material; combining textures is key in wearing all one color. I paired the blue items with the bag and flats of a cognac color to play up the simplicity factor. You can wear this outfit a million times if you know how to work your patterns and textures.

Dress: h&m

Sweater: Kohls

Flats: Target

Bag: Target

I feel like this next outfit is meant for the spring/summer season. Now as you can see I took the flats above and rolled them over to this ensmeble because honestly, college students do not have a shoe collection like Carrie Bradshaw (although we do dream...). This high-low chiffon skirt has a simple floral pattern perfect for the inbetween season. (C'mon spring, I have waited long enough!) The top is a simple sleeveless chambray, which has made some amazing ensembles after it's purchase. Then, I placed a woven belt in the most feminine part of my body to show I still have a sillouette despite my shortened torso. Because of the shape and pattern it's an overall fun and flirty outfit.

Top: Forever21

Skirt: PacSun

Belt: Kmart

Shoes: Target

I hope you all enjoyed this and I promise I will try harder to post more frequently. Stay chic my loves! <3 font="">

Have You Checked Out Efoxcity?

If you haven't I suggest you type in the following link I am about to give you and satisfy your inner shopaholic.

As you must know being a college student my wallet does not have any leg room for a wardrobe budget. However, that is how efoxcity becomes one of my secret weapons. They offer so many wholesale clothes including anything from cheap formal dresses and cheap evening dresses
to fashion wedding dresses that are completely affordable and of good quality. They also have a wide selection of fashion clothing and a new array of jewelry to accompany all your personal style needs. Below I will feature some of my must-haves from this website in which I have chosen according to my own stylistic preferances.

My Wish List:

I love the soft feel of this blouse, the lace adds a slight vintage vibe and the olive green color give a neutral tone to any outfit I decided to pair it in. I also love the slight androgynous feel, how the website styled the blouse it is like a "sweet, tomboy" look.

Ok, in the spring I am a sucker for white blouses. Since my color palette tends to be on the warm side and include corals, teals, and florals a neutral foundation of white is a constant choice of mine. This blouse would go amazing with some high-waisted fuchsia shorts I recently bought from Forever21 for $5.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this post, I know I have been inconsistant with my posts, my college schedule is very unforgiving. I promise many more styling tips posts and an upcoming DIY in the future!

Stay chic!
